Sunset Memphis

I was on a ladder photographing the new Tom Lee Memorial at sunset. I turned around and saw this sight. One click and it was captured. The only thing I did was increase the color saturation a bit. There is a train going right to left.

A bicycle/pedestrian lane is proposed where tho old boardwalk was attached. People used to cross by wagon.

Indy Car Driver Appears at Diabetes Fund Raiser

Race Driver Charlie Kimball appears at the Sugar Run in Collierville, TN. in November 2010. Six months later he finished 13th in the Indy 500. Mr. Kimball is diabetic and the Sugar Run event raises money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Epson Printer Orientation Problem, Page Setup, Mac

I use Epson printers with my Mac G5 and I print custom sizes like 4x6, and half letter (5.5x8.5).

The last 2 times I have bought an Epson printer, it has caused a problem with the orientation of the image to be printed. When you install the software CD, the Epson printer model becomes listed under Printer Margins. You need to change that to User Defined.

Here's how. Open an image and go to Page Setup. Click on Paper Size. Click on Manage Custom Sizes.
Press the + sign. Type in your custom size, like 4x6.  Under Printer Margins you will see the new printer listed. Change that to User Defined. Click OK. You should have no more problems with orientation until you buy another Epson printer.

This has worked for the last 2 Epson printers I have bought.

My new Epson Stylus Photo R2000 makes really good prints.

Pete Best plays the Levitt Shell in Memphis

Pete Best, the original drummer for the Beatles, played the Levitt Shell on August 9th. He and his band, Haymans Green, got the large crowd rockin in a picnic atmosphere

Pete plays hard and knows how to lay down a steady groove.

Memphis is now a sister city to Liverpool as they cross-promote tourism. This concert opened Elvis Week in Memphis.

The Wendy's Golf Classic was a success again this year at Ridgeway Country Club in Germantown. The buzz in the research world is about the upcoming artificial pancreas. The money raised by JDRF helps to fund this research.

Best Graffiti in Memphis

This surprisingly good graffiti is on the wall behind Holt Tire Service on Mendenhall. It can be seen from the west parking lot of the Malco Paradiso. This artist has a strong sense of highlight, shadow, and gradation. And, it was probably done in the dark with spray paint.
